Freelance graphic designer working out of my home since August 2002. My location is far reaching -- living in Monticello, MN, my client base reaches the Twin Cities and surrounding suburbs, outstate Minnesota and the East and West Coasts of the United States.

Prior to that I was communications and graphics coodinator for NRG Energy, Inc. Lost job due to downsizing after 22 years -- decided to make a go of it on my own and I have enjoyed every minute of it (well most -- there is that administrative part that sometimes drives me crazy -- which can be a short trip for me)

EXPERIENCE August 2002 - present Sole Proprietor, emkay & co, Monticello, MN Developed a freelance graphic production business providing professional and affordable creative graphics services for presentations, print and web. 1997 – Aug. 2002 NRG Energy, Inc., Minneapolis, MN Communications and Graphics Coordinator * Managed production process as well as provided graphic design support as requested by corporate, regional and local country office clients for all printed, website and multi-media materials for third largest global power producer. * Key liaison between internal clients and external graphic design and print production teams. Responsible for coordination with internal clients and outside vendors in the process of taking desired message communication through creative execution and ultimately, dissemination of finished product on-time and within budget on such formats as annual reports, corporate newsletters, marketing brochures, inserts and advertisements and electronic communications such as those for the Web site, intranet, multimedia, videos and presentation graphics. OTHER EXPERIENCE 1991 - 1997 Executive Assistant to Vice President & CFO, NRG Energy, Inc. Worked independently and collectively to perform routine secretarial and administrative duties as well as worked on specialized projects. In addition, this position provided backup for the Chairman, President and CEO’s secretary.
